Information on the SCBP Conference
We are all excited that you will soon be arriving in Memphis for the annual gathering of the Southern Conference of Bar Presidents. We also have a few final details to help you prepare for your trip.
AUTUMN IN THE SOUTH
Cooler fall weather arrived in Memphis this week, providing a perfect setting for outdoor events on Thursday and Friday. Daytime highs will reach into the upper 70s, with nighttime lows dipping into the 50s. No rain is in the forecast.
The registration desk (located in the West Mezzanine at The Peabody) will open at noon on Thursday and remain open until 6 p.m., so please drop in before you head up to the rooftop for the opening reception at 5 p.m. Don't be surprised if a certain King of Rock 'n' Roll drops in to help entertain.
The registration desk will also be open:
• Friday, Oct. 20: 7 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.
• Saturday, Oct. 21: 7 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
After opening-day events, there is a full agenda of activities for your time in Memphis. A printed guide will be available at registration.
The attire for the weekend will be business casual; however, feel free to bring cocktail attire for dinner. Class photos will be taken on Thursday evening at the end of the reception prior to your class dinners.
FRIDAY NIGHT DINE AROUND
We are excited to offer a variety of restaurant options on Friday. Following a reception at the Overton Square Courtyard, we will break up into groups heading out to eight popular Memphis restaurants, each with a special menu for the evening for the SCBP. (The $65.00 voucher you received at registration will cover the cost of your dinner, however, if you would like to order alcoholic beverages or food above and beyond the limited menu, you will be responsible for that portion of the bill at the conclusion of dinner.)
FRIDAY AND SATURDAY PROGRAMMING
The daily programs on Friday and Saturday mornings will take place offsite. Meals that are included in registration will be served at the program site or as otherwise indicated on the attached agenda.

FEDEX HUB TOUR REMINDER
Please note that if you signed up for the Fedex Hub Tour on Friday October 20, you must refrain from drinking alcohol at least six hours prior to the departure for the 10 p.m. tour. Here is a list of other requirements for the tour.
Buses will be provided to each offsite event. There will be some light walking to dinner in the evenings; however, please feel free to notify us of any accessibility concerns as indicated above. If you decide to drive to any of the programming events in lieu of taking the provided buses, please note there may be additional costs associated with parking.
