The National Civil Rights Museum at the Lorraine Motel is a very special experience that takes visitors through centuries of history. Visitors begin within the original Lorraine Motel structure and continue through the Legacy exhibits within the Young & Morrow and Boarding House buildings across Mulberry Street.

Old Dominick Distillery

Tour of Old Dominick Distillery
While the Old Dominick Distillery is newly opened, it traces its origins back more than 150 years to when Domenico Canale arrived in Memphis to create a new life away from war ravaged Italy. In the booming years following the Civil War, the city doubled in population and Domenico and his brother, Peter, started Canale & Bro., a wholesale grocery, confectionary, and supplier of liquor -- including its own brand of bourbon whiskey. Old Dominick. The opening of the distillery this year brings back that tradition and that bourbon. Visitors touring the facility will experience a full tour of the extensive grain to glass spirit making process before finishing with a tasting of Old Dominick’s fine spirits and a toast.

This late-night tour offers a behind-the-scenes look at the FedEx World HUB, where thousands of employees sort through more than 1 million packages each night. There is also a mini museum at the tour meeting location.

Led by Jimmy Ogle, Peabody Duckmaster and Shelby County’s Historian, this 90-minute walking tour steps off from the Lobby of The Peabody Hotel and winds its way through the core of Downtown streets, alleys, parks and plazas covering facts and information about one of the most historic and memorable cities in the nation. From Peabody Hotel to Court Square to view the Mississippi River, Cotton Row, Beale Street (the most musical street of America) and back to The Peabody Lobby, there is 466 years of history to walk about, talk about and see!
